Team Leader (Disability Advocacy)
- Permanent position - Monday Friday
- Attractive salary package $106,000 + Super - salary sacrifice plus other benefits on offer

Our client provides an advocacy service to those who are vulnerable in the community. They are a not-for-profit, independent and have over 30 years experience in supporting and improving the well-being of our seniors and those with a disability in the community.
They now have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to manage a remote team of Disability Advocacy Officer across Queensland who are out in the community assisting their clients to navigate a scope of services.
The Role
- You will manage your own small portfolio of clients but primarily you will lead, inspire and guide the Disability Advocacy team to provide information and individual advocacy support to eligible clients
- Ensure all information and services provided are consistent and compliant with relevant legislation and quality standards for compliance
- Providing Disability Advocacy team with complex case management support
- Leading weekly team meetings and assigning projects
- Establishing clear performance expectations, monitor, and analyse
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to team members to achieve their personal and business goals
- Coordinate training and continuous learning initiatives
- Lead the recruitment, selection and induction of new intake staff
- Nurture relationships/networks with other related industry bodies including but not limited to: Dept of Social Services, Dept of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services, NDIA, NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission,QLD Independent Disability Advocacy Network and other relevant organisations and peak bodies
- Reporting to the Manager, Advocacy Services, whilst maintaining a productive working relationship with the Executive Management Team as a whole
What you will bring to the role
- Extensive Leadership experience ideally in the Disability sector or other related industry
- Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor and supervise staff to foster a cohesive team
- An understanding of and experience in providing disability support/advocacy and supporting vulnerable people with disability within complex settings or situations
- Sound knowledge of disability support programs, systems and sector, including the NDIS, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Confident liaising at all levels both verbally and in writing with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and simple manner
- Able to understand and apply legislation, policies and procedures.

NB: you will need a valid Queensland Drivers licence
If successful you will need to obtain the following:
- Pre-employment National Criminal History Certificate
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (paid workers)
- Valid Working with Children Blue Card (paid workers)
Travel will be required between ADAs Brisbane and Gold Coast offices and, from time to time, to regional offices also.
